BUFFALOES HOLD CANCER AWARENESS DAY
Wednesday, 28 July 2010 20:49

Table topping Bramley Buffaloes will be holding a Cancer Awareness Day for their forthcoming home game against second placed Warrington Wizards at the Arthur Miller Stadium on Saturday 31st July (2.30pm kick-off).

The RLC National leaders and reigning champions have a three point lead and a game in hand over the Cheshire side and the Buffaloes will be hoping to make it a double against the Wizards after winning 36.30 at Wilderspool earlier in the season.

Bramley coach Mark Butterill is wary of the Warrington challenge as the regular season enters its final stages: “This will be a big game and a big test of our credentials. If we have pretensions of repeating last year’s success then this really is a must win.

“We just pipped them in the away fixture in May although admittedly with a much weakened team but we will have to be on our guard as this side can damage you if we don’t maintain the discipline we’ve shown in recent weeks.

“They are having a great season and we will need to dig deep but victory will open up a good lead at the top as we seek to achieve our first objective of claiming the League Leaders trophy.

“We hope to have  Tony Williams, Paul Gledhill and Dainel Lavery back and in contention to play. Its probably our biggest game of the season so far so it would be great if our fantastic supporters could make an extra special effort to come and see what will i think be an excellent game and also contribute to a great cause and it is typical of our club and our fantastic board members that they have taken the time out to do our little bit for what is a major issue in the world today.  added Mark.

The Buffaloes will be holding a bucket collection at the game in aid of cancer research and are urging their army of supporters to bring along any loose change that could be donated to this worthy cause.
