Buffaloes Rout Bulldogs. - Bramley Buffaloes

On a warm summer afternoon, confusion rained in Wetherby, as to whether the game would take place, as when we arrived there were only four Bulldogs players there and they were telling us the game was off.

Faced with the dilemma of whether to play the game and try and chase down Odsal Sedbergh superior points differents, or take a 24-0 win, the players decided that they wanted to play the game. Wetherby mustered up ten players, with promises from more to arrive as soon as they could.

The game was expected a rout, with the Buffaloes putting Wetherby to the sword, running in 17 tries and 13 goals, with a field goal too, which should have been a try but we decided to pop a field goal over too. One of the conversions was fluffed from in front of the posts as we decided to try to backheel the kick over.

Arron Henry scored another five-try haul, Kieran Hudon and Joe Mathers both scored hat tricks, Tom White and Tim McRae bagging a brace each, and Dan Baranyi and Jack Sykes scoring one try a piece.

Henry kicked seven conversions from 7 attempts, and a field goal, Alex Coop kicked three from three conversions, Connor McGill kicked two conversions from 6 attempts and Sykes kicked one from one.

All in all a miserable afternoon, but the points difference to Sedbergh was reduced to 33. and to cap Wetherby’s afternoon off they had a man sent off in the first half for an off the ball incident.
